What a dumpy wrapper app. Most of the time I have to go to the web- it stalls out all the time and is not a good experience.

Hangs up constantly, and when going to save work it has trouble and doesn’t save …so frustrating!!!
I have been using quickbooks 2013 for mac for years and am very pleased with it. I dont like how you are required to pay a monthly subscription to upgrade to the new quickbooks 2016. There is a desktop version available for purchase but it is limited and does not allow iCloud sync between devices. The future is in cloud technology and if quickbooks wants to stay relevant it needs to allow cloud sync between devices for free (espicially sense the desktop version is $300).
I’ve been using QB Online for years. Now that it’s an app I constantly have problems. It keeps logging me out. Right now I can’t even get into it. I enter my username and password. The app opens then closes to return to the login page. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
I dislike this app and Quickbooks Online in general. Regret it every day! $50 a month to constantly wait, log out log in…Quit changing things Intuit! It constantly freezes and locks up. The menues are so cumbersome its ridiculous. Who really needs a pie graph to see where they are spending their money? I already know where it goes…taxes! I will be switching to Sage as soon as humanly possible!
I’ve been using QB online for 6 months, and in general am very pleased - it’s truly a great app that helps run our small business finances. We use a freelance bookkeeper to stay on top of all transactions - it is very helpful to have someone managing the application who knows it well. Only two requests for future updates to the software: 1) Intuit should PLEASE allow for auto-logins when “Keep me logged in” is checked in app settings/on the login screen; and 2) please create an API for CRM software INSIGHTLY.
I’m not exagerrating when I say “This app does not work AT ALL.” I mean, aside from opening, literally nothing will function. It keeps re-opening to the same invoice from a month ago and I can’t close it, save it, refresh it, go to the dashboard...nothing. Keep trying Quickbooks. Or better yet, stop trying to fix what isn’t broken. In the meantime, I have to login to the website to use the service. Maybe the next update will actual work.
The previous version of the desktop app worked fine. Downloaded the update and it worked for a few days, then it started crashing every few days, then every day and now I can’t even open it - it just crashes instantly.
This app worked great foe a while and then it stopped working with a message: "It’s taking longer than usual to get your data". Never opens the company file. Spoke to QB tech support and they know about the problem but don’t have a fix. Works fine on my iPad Pro.
I use this app for my business every day, love it. No issues whatsoever.
This App is horrible. I used it sucessfully for a while, but now every time I try to log in, it allows me to select my company, acts as if it is going to load it, and then will log me out of the app. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it doesn’t work. I am using version 2.4.1. I continually get logged out every time Quickbooks tries to load my company. I can’t run my company via the app. I need to go to the Quickbooks website if I want to use the software and log in via the cloud.
I like having the software online and multiple users but I run 2 businesses and they said I could run both on the same supscription like I did with the desktop version. That was not true, had to get seperate subscription for each business. Also, they said I could do progress billing, Not! So jobs I had in progress, I could not finish the billing the same way as before the transition to online version. Other than that, I do like QB! Thanks! Steve
I’m starting a self-employed business and wanted to try QuickBooks to track my self-employment expenses and income separately from my day job. Unfortunately, whenever I try to open QuickBooks and login with my Intuit credentials, it won’t log me in, with the error message, "Oops. Weve encountered an unknown error.” Not a good start!
The app itself is ok. Each update has its ups and downs. But the customer support is so terrible, it’s gotten to the point that I feel like they are intentionally dishonest. I’m constantly being overbilled, phantom charges are deducted from my bank account... even after they tell me it’s fixed and give me a case number, nothing changes. I’m forced to call back, transferred to 3 or 4 new people, re-explain my situation. This steals precious time I should be spending in my business. Similar scenarios repeat, and I can see it’s a pattern. The culture of Intuit is irreparably broken, and I have found little caring or accountability from support reps. Yes, they are the 800 pound gorilla, but I would strongly advise you to try one of the competitors. I wish I’d never switched from Freshbooks. I’m currently evaluating what it would take to transfer off of Quickbooks and Intuit.
I have been using Quickbooks for over 10 years and up till last year used to buy a new version about once every 2 years as Inuit deliberately didn’t upgrade previous releases for MAC operating system upgrades. THis was just about OK, but as the new subscription based online version was more interactive and allowed better bank connection, I switced. First of all, this worked out at more than twice as expensive as buying the software once every 2 years. But what is more galling, are the constant bugs and problems associated with this version. I am currently unable to use this MAC app as whenever I try to open it, it just crashes and goes back to the log in screen. I have tried re-installing and restarting my Macbook but to no avail. Luckily, I can use the browser version, but that has bugs too. I am seriously looking at moving to another platform, despite all the hassles with doing so because the customer service at Intuit is worse than useless. Sorry, but I have no idea why this app has ‘Editor’s Choice’. All I can imagine is that the ‘Editor’ is being paid by Intuit. Don’t go with this software if you can help it - start with something else, you won’t regret it - I am looking myself at Zero- I know it will be a bit of work to transfer, but from what I have seen, it will be a huge improvement.
I had hoped this would be less buggy that what is offered online but this is actually worse. Lots of troubles updating bank accounts with error messages and outdated information. Daily I open this program and see information that was updated previously only to get errors when re-matching transactions. It’s unfortunate Intuit has again created a buggy version Quickbooks.
I try logging in, every time I get “Encountered an unknown error” and then just quits.
I wish it could recover from timing out better. So many times I’ve ended up losing data because it times out and has to refresh.
I signed up for QB Simple Start to manage my freelance business. As tax time drew near, I discovered that Quickbooks I had signed up for the wrong quickbooks package for my needs. Unfortunately, the geniuses at Quickbooks have absolutely no way of transferring my account to the proper version, which means I can’t run the right kind of reports for my accountant, which means that I have to go in and do it all by hand. That basically negates the whole purpose of having a computerized accounting program. Either that, or I have to sign up for the right product and redo all of last years accounting from scratch. Why have I been paying these people for a product I can’t use?
Right now, the app is entirely unusable. I can log in and it starts up, but it crashes. I’ve had success with app for 7 months, but this version is not useable for me at all.
