Poor reliability

This app is buggy. When opening, several windows will open asking for the password which should automatically login. Many buttons don’t work at various times and I need to switch to the web version to get things done. I would love this app if it was more reliable. Since it’s a business app, reliability is pretty crucial and it a major detriment to this app.

Great for Small Business

I am able to write estimates, send invoices, reciepts, and collect payments with ease!

Quickbooks Online - “Where Functionality Doesn’t Matter"

We are a small company, with 5 employees making quotes. We were using Xero but decided to switch over QBO because we felt Xero was limited with it’s reporting and some of it’s functions. I had been using Quickbooks for Mac prior to Xero. I’m not sure what happened between QB for Mac and QBO but Intuit really dropped the ball on the funcationality of the online version. Here’s a short list of reasons why we’re banging our heads against the wall everytime we use QBO (this applies to this app, since the app is just a simplified browser window): - Freezes - this happens multiple times during each session when trying to load a page or hit “save”, the window freezes and you lose everything you just worked on. - No Markup - You can’t see your markup on estimates…kind of a big deal if your accounting software can’t tell you if you’re going to make or lose money…Quickbooks for Mac/Desktop has this feature - Custom Layouts - You can make custom layouts for printing - problem is when you save your new designs it doesn’t actually save them properly or at all so they still look wrong - Layers - you have to click through layers of pages to work on existing quotes, purchase orders, invoices etc. This is rediculous when we have 50 purchase orders we’re working on and each time we need to add items to one we have to cycle through pages to get to the vendor PO’s again. Add’s lots of unnecessary time to our work flow - Item Updates - you can’t update an item from a quote/invoice/PO page. We like to keep our pricing updated and when we’re building quotes we put in an item and realize the price is no longer accurate so we need to change the price in the system. Instead of having the ability to go to the item page directly, you have to leave the quote, cycle through some pages and then search for the item, open it, change the price, save it, cycle back to the quotes, search for the one you want, and open two more pages to get back. - Unwanted Logging Out - If you have multiple tabs open, say, to work on a quote and have another tab open to update items, it will randomly log you out on one of the tabs - Updates Don’t take Effect - If you are working on a quote and update an item in another tab/window, the newly updated item will appear on the quote when you type it in however it will bring in all the old information. If you refresh the page it still won’t update. It will however update product once you leave the quote and re-open it. This is a royal pain to have to save and close a quote everytime you make an item change. - The Good - QBO has a clean, simple user interface, many third party apps integrate with it.

Its a good start, needs a lot of improvement

I’ve been using quickbooks for years and I’m shocked at how badly it performs on a Mac. It’s so bad, they shouldn’t even sell it (and they sell it for the same price as a PC). Customer service suggested I buy a PC in order to use quickbooks properly…just to give you an idea. You can’t search sales by location, Name Address field is non-existent (makes it difficult for local taxes and licenses), crashes, freezes, etc. It’s a scam to sell this product on a platform that doesn’t support it. The online version (thru the browser) is decent and the app on the phone is ok. App for a mac or even the full software on a mac is a joke. As they suggested, either use exclusively on your phone or buy a PC in order to use their software.

Used to be good

Now it doesn’t even load.. Come on Intuit!

Broken. Unreliable.

This is essentially a portal to the website. They claim it’s faster, and perhaps it would be, if I could log in and use it reliably. Recently, it asks for login credentials, which I provide, then it loads the company and promptly returns me to the login credeitnals window. It has always been buggy, even more so than the site. Skip it. Use the website.

Keeps Crashing and crashing since this update, Thanks!!!

Update just won’t work, Software keeps Crashing on my Mac! On the bright side, I’m working all my accounting on my iphone, not the same but still not confortable.

Does not work on Mac OS X El Capitan

Have loaded it many times and still does not work. Even downloaded new version today and still nothing. Quickbooks app is worthless on desktop. Get it fixed or take it off the app store.

Latest update does not work!

So now after installing the latest update/bug fix, the application opens but when you try to sign in it tries to load a few times and then crashes. Back to using the web browser, it seems to be 100% more reliable!

Useless!!

If after a period of time you can get someone at Intuit to help you or getthis app to work, good luck! QBO is online only this app rarely works and Intuit spent zero time making the Mac app work. Cant log in, two versions of your company file are avail and non work. Finally giving up for good on the app .. The browser version always works.

For me it just works

There is something about Intuit that bothers me. But I keep going back to them because they help me produce what I need. You would think with all of the negative commentary that this company would no longer be in business. But I think everyone else is in the same boat. Aside from all of my decades of frustration with Quick…whatever…I really like this app. Yes, I have crashed, got hung up, etc. But as simple as this is…a dedicated browser, it helps me FOCUS.. I close out everything except for a pdf or spreadsheet that I am working on and this browser. I work away without thinking…oh I need to check that order from yesterday, or any number of things that I use to keep myself from getting my book keeping chores complete. I also like that I can access more than one company quickly. This is a good idea. It’s nice to have simple tools that work.

Most Recent Update

I am not happy with the most recent update. The app is no longer working on my mac desktop. I have deleted it and re-downloaded the program and it still is not working.

Does’t Work

This new update does not work. It asks me to sign in I put in my password and when it is supposed to load the data it just simply goes back to the login screen. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

Crashing!

This normally works great, but I haven’t been able to login to the desktop app for a week now. Don’t use this version until they fix the glitch!

It worked before, but not now

Please fix whatever occured with the last update. Now, I provide my login credentials, and it starts to load the app with my company information, and then shuts down again. It’s very frustrating.

Won’t even load

Brand new i-Mac. QuickBooks app worked for a couple of weeks. It won’t even load now - keeps trying to load company info and looping back to the log-in page. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it multiple times with no luck. Back to QB online.

JUNK!

After wtching the spinning circle for about 3 minutes waiting for it to sign me in, I closed the app, restarted it and entered my password. Then I waited about 3 more minutes, restarted it, etc….. On about the 4th try I got in, only to start receiving errors about my bank acount. This happens almost every time I sign in. This app seriously needs looked at by Quickbooks. I would love to have it work the way it’s advertised but for now, it’s not even close.

App Crashes on Sign In

App crashes/won’t load company info when trying to sign in.

Version 2.4.4

I have used some version of QuickBooks since 1998. I migrated to QB Online last year hoping the feature set and sharing options would make life easier. However, QB never misses an opportunity to disappoint. To make matters worse, version 2.4.4 doesnt work (for me) at all. I log in, the app looks for my file, and then takes me back to my login screen. I deleted the app and re-installed it; same thing. I wrote a note to QB support and got a short message of condolence back, but no suggested cures or work-arounds. Fortunately, I can still access my file through my web browser.

Still crashing and wont allow you to log in

It is disappointing that this problem hasnt been fixed yet. I havnt been able to log in on the app for well over a week and after reading reviews, I see im not the only one. Is there an expected fix time/date for this?
